The Ronald McDonald House Foundation
RMHC in Australia
In 1981 children’s charities were forever changed in Australia when the first Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in NSW. Since then, the charity has grown to 19 Houses across the country as well as 19 Family Rooms, 5 Family Retreats, One Care Mobile, our Hospitality Cart Program and our National Learning Program.
Since we began in 1981, Ronald McDonald House Charities has been supporting the ever changing needs of seriously ill and injured children and their families, during what is often the most stressful time of their lives. Today, through our four core Programs – Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, Learning Program and Family Retreats as well as Care Mobile and our Hospitality Cart – we are able to help 60,000 families every year, forming an essential part of Australia’s health care infrastructure and education systems.
Our Mission
We provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Our Vision
A world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.
Our Purpose
Caring for families with children who are ill or injured.
Our Programs and Services
When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, it impacts the whole family. Lives can be turned upside down. That’s why we provide a range of programs to help families stay together and close to the care they need.
Ways to help
Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity that relies on the work of our volunteers and the financial support of individual and corporate donations.
Without their generous contributions, we would be unable to keep our doors open to families in need 365 days a year. Thanks to the public, we’ve been able to continually expand our operations to help more families and communities Australia-wide.
There are many ways you can contribute to our vital programs including our Houses, Family Rooms, Family Retreats and the Learning Program.
